Because so many of you were kind enough to email me with your encouraging comments, I have decided to allow the gallant vicar to return. I promise his reappearance was not planned, it just happened. I hope you find The Return of the Gallant Vicar an exciting sequel to the first Gallant Vicar. You really should read the first book in order to enjoy the sequel. And because I delight in creating strong heroines and fast action, Elizabeth Bennet, while true to the original Jane Austen character, is a force to deal with in this sequel—so hang on to your bonnets! And please remember my books are fast paced, not quite your normal Jane Austen, as my fans have always enjoyed action coupled with snappy dialogue.

I have really enjoyed Barbara Silkstone's Gallant Vicar books. I love each one of this series and this book was the best of all. I am sorry to see one reader who did not enjoy it, but I guess you can't please every single reader every time. This is period appropriate, excellent characters, moving mystery, and just enough humor and romance to pull it all together. If all Regency books were this good, I would read more of this genre. I hope Barbara will write more of them in the future. I find her to be extremely diversified in her writings and that is so refreshing.
Sorry, not a fan. Rather childish version in a not so Austen book. Other than the Austen names used for it's characters, there was little to attract me to its story.
Predictable and somewhat boring.
I don't understand the purpose for writing this sequel other than to cash in on the relative success of the original.
Again, Martel rears his evil head. I enjoyed Elizabeth being the action heroine.
Just finished. It is an excellent book & I didn't stop until I hit the very last page. WOW what an ending . Now if we could just have a few more of Lizzie & Darcy's modern day adventure's? Please?
So much more angst for our dear couple, and it happens on their wedding day! How will our dear couple survive this time? I liked this one also.
Barbara Silkstone writes very strong characters for Elizabeth and Darcy. She also continues the side story of Mary.
